Wolens Day Program Services
Our Wolens Day Program Services, generously funded by The Kalman and Ida Wolens Foundation, is also known as our Individualized Skills and Socialization (ISS) Program. ISS is the enhanced service model that replaced what was formerly called Day Habilitation. Its purpose is simple and powerful: to support everyone in building the skills, confidence, and community connections they need to live a fuller, more independent life.
ISS focuses on helping participants grow in:
- Life skills
- Activities of daily living
- Social engagement
- Community participation
- Personal development
All supported in a deeply person-centered way, with both on-site and off-site experiences tailored to each participant’s unique goals, interests, and needs.
CHAI’s ISS program meets every weekday, creating structure, routine, and plenty of opportunities for joy and exploration. Each day brings something new — and always something meaningful. Participants enjoy:
- Exciting Field Trips: From Denton to Fort Worth and everywhere in between, our group stays active and engaged in the community through outings that spark curiosity, connection, and fun.
- Fitness and Wellness: Regular workouts take place at the state of the art fitness center at the Jewish Community Center, where participants build strength, confidence, and healthy habits.
- Socialization & Community Involvement: Whether spending time together at the program, volunteering in the community, or participating in JCC events, ISS members enjoy countless opportunities to make friends, practice social skills, and feel part of something bigger.
The Wolens Day Program doesn’t just fill the day — it enriches it. Every activity, outing, and shared moment is designed to help individuals learn, grow, and feel empowered in their daily lives. And through it all, participants are supported by staff who know them, believe in them, and celebrate who they are.
