Endowment, Planned Giving, and Legacy Society

CHAEF – Community Homes for Adults Endowment Foundation

CHAI is privileged to have a robust endowment, the Community Homes for Adults Endowment Foundation (aka CHAEF), which has grown over 33 years, providing sustained revenue to fund our programs and services.

In the most recent fiscal year, 2025, the endowment provided over $600,000 to CHAI's operating revenue, or 15% of our overall income.

Supporters can make an unrestricted gift to the endowment, or discuss a specific purpose with CHAI leadership.

Legacy Society & Planned Giving

Donors can leave a legacy in support of CHAI by making a bequest, planned gift, or estate gift. Reach out to CHAI and/or consult with your financial advisor or estate planner.

  • In your will or trust, you can desigate a specific dollar amount or percentage of assets to CHAI.
  • You can name CHAI as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), or other qualified retirement plan.
  • You can name CHAI as a beneficiary of an insurance policy.

The CHAI Society for Lifetime Care recognizes those donors who provide for the future of CHAI by including CHAI or CHAEF (our endowment) in their estate plans. All donors who notify us of their planned gift will be included in our CHAI Society for Lifetime Care list that will be published in our annual reports and newsletters, on our website, and in other CHAI materials and brochures. As a member of the CHAI Society for Lifetime Care, only your name will be published and no information about the value of your gift intention will be included.

Please email development@chaidallas.org to inquire about making a planned giving or joining the CHAI Society for Lifetime Care.
